I have written my Weilan sex fic and, ongoing tentacle fluff aside, I am done with ship-centric fic for the forseeable future. (In fact the tentacle fluff is turning into plotty casefic, too.) So I see no problems with a lack of sex scenes; sometimes they're just not what you want to write, and that's okay.
