For me, characterization is the most important thing in AU stories - when the circumstances have changed, it's especially important that the characters are recognizably and believably themselves, though of course appropriately different because of the different circumstances. And the puns - yes! :-) Policeman!Junno is a little more restrained than Idol!Junno when it comes to puns - but there are puns in Ryo's future, believe me. *g*
