Succumbing to a meme at long last...

Sylvia Sues, anyone?

This is the meme:

1. Use fanfiction.net's Search >> Story By Summary and look up your name in either Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings.
2. If there are any Mary Sues that share your name, pick the worst-sounding one and post the summary.

And these are the best “Harry Potter” Sylvia Sues (I couldn’t pick just one):

Set in a pre-Harry Hogwarts(1989), our story concerns Severus Snape and his love of philosophy, his friendship with a mysterious Dr. Sylvia Oliver, a beautiful interim Divination Professor, and morning jogs.

*Chapter 7!* Oliver Wood meets his match in Sylvia Townsend, a girl he's never noticed before, but unwittingly falls for...
(Oliver Wood? This Sylvia Sue has no ambition.)

Voldemort has returned, and so has Sylvia, Severus Snape's once-lost friend and associate, and part of a force that may be all that stands between Voldemort and utter destruction. The sequel to
(The first part of this would make a good email sig: Voldemort has returned, and so has Sylvia. Has a certain ring to it... )

A new girl, Sylvia Macontosh gets sorted into Slytherin. SHe is different and starts to use her powers she learned in Bueaxbaton to commit crimes and try to kill people who follow her. What's up with this girl and why is hse here?
(My favorite of the bunch. And if anyone was wondering, the title is: “The New, Mysterious Girl”.)

As a Dark Power is rising, Harry encounters Sylvia, who plays a key part in his history, and his feelings for Draco change drastically. And how does Severus become an important figure? SLASH, NOT MARY SUE! Part 3, chapter 5 is done. DEATH! LANGUAGE!

My Snape-is-a-father-story. Rated R for excessive pain and violence. When Sylvia moves to Hogwarts, she gets a unique view of her father... CANON READERS PLEASE READ NOTE!
(A Sylveritus story! )

It’s been five years since Draco, Sylvia or Blaise has seen Ginny. Draco gets married to Pansy and they end up having a child. Something terrible ends up happening and now Draco wants to have full custody of his daughter. Ginny ends up being his lawyer! W
(Yes yes, but what about Sylvia?)

Just one for LotR, but it’s a beauty:

Sylvia Tiraldamel, the mysterious eldest Elf, whom the Ents call "The Shepheress of the Trees", is an anomaly among her kindred. Ever she dwelt in secret solitude until Legolas discovered her. Now, together they are on a quest to find the lost Entwives...

Oooh, it hurts our eyes! Macontosh. Bueaxbaton. hse. Why indeed?

DEATH! LANGUAGE!

This seems to be screaming out for a Methos icon.

That's because Ents haven't, so far, required any Shepheresses. A Hepheret would be a different matter.

And doesn't Tiraldamel sound like some kind of low-fat margerine?

If you want to find yourself questioning everything you ever knew, I recommend you have a look at the story itself. The summary is but a pale shadow.

YES! It does! That's a brilliant idea. *g* Now I just have to find an incredibly snarky-looking picture of the old guy...

For some reason I thought it sounded like a laxative, myself. ;-) But the low-fat margerine is a far nicer choice...

And I keep wondering why the mysterious elder-than-eldest elves (TM) gave their so-mysterious child a name derived from a human word. You'd think they'd be too proud to stoop so low. But I suppose it comes from being mysterious.

*schnüff* Ich hab das schon probiert, es gab für meinen Namen keine einzige Geschichte! *schmoll*
Also, für meinen echten Namen. Für "Fleur" gibt's natürlich viele. *g*

Sylvia Sue seems to hang around that Snape fellow a lot. How strange! *g*

I didn't really look at that meme the first couple of times I saw it, but I really must look up Julia Sue now...

I'm sure it's complete coincidence... what other reason could there be?
