A meme I found through
louiselux:
1) Sally forth to Fanfiction.net. Gird thy loins. Plunge in.
2) Choose a book, movie, show, etc. you have never heard of (or, in a pinch, at least one you know nothing about aside from the name) that has at least ten fics listed.
3) Read only the first page of story summaries.
4) Using what you have learned from these summaries, describe what this book/movie/whatever is about. Be as silly as you like, but ONLY use whatever you just learned..
How could I resist?
There's a series of books called 'Redwall' that I've never heard of before today...
Redwall Abbey in the land of Mossflower is the backdrop to the trials and tribulations of vast populations of sentient animals, who behave just like animals would if they were human: They conquer, fight, betray, part fated lovers, and generally make life hell for each other from dawn to dusk, and all the time in between.
Every heroic tale of epic battle needs a hero! Our hero is Martin, a warrior mouse, whose heart belongs to the no-doubt beauteous Rose. The lovers are cruelly parted, one assumes by the tides of war (what else?). Not only that: Poor Martin also has sword issues, having been equally cruelly parted from his fated weapon for years and years.
Where there's an epic tale, The Evil Horde is never far off! The vermin are the scourge of this particular land – hordes of these beasties attack constantly by water and by land, swarming out to destroy everything in sight. They are then narrowly beaten back by fierce fighters of various species. Badgers in particular are enormously valiant and make mighty and bellicose warriors and rulers, as do wolves (who, as a rule, aren't quite as noble and righteous as badgers, and can even be quite nasty). Foxes, of course, cannot be trusted and may play deeper games of their own.
Other inhabitants of the world of Redwall include Verdauga Greeneyes, a stern wildcat ruler who may or may not have been a tyrant, depending on whom you ask, and Predak, who could have been a Queen if not for an unfortunate fall that cut her political career short. Less illustrious personages include the murderous freebooter Plugg Firetail, who – as his name suggests – might well be one of those treacherous foxes.
I may have to check how much of this is accurate, now. *g*

The badger finds that the wolf lacks honor, that he is dishonest and immoral and fights unfairly, that he lacks a warrior's innate pride and uprightness. The wolf finds that the badger is foolish, that he fails to choose his battles wisely and thus runs the risk of failure, that he sees the world in black and white and lakcs judgement and discernment.
And yet. And yet.
