1) fic that doesn't quite match the recip's prompt, 2) fic that doesn't meet the minimum word count, 3) fic for a previous year's Yuletide prompt, 4) fic that you don't want to become the recip's main gift for...reasons, and 5) fic that you couldn't complete in time for the main collection.
(And probably other categories that I'm forgetting.) So your story will fit right in!
