In today’s round of the Blackhawks bakeoff, I am baking for adorable rookie Teuvo Teräväinen from Helsinki.

I’ve opted for the traditional windmill-shaped Finnish tarts Joulutorttu. Strictly speaking, Joulutorttu are Christmas treats, but I have always held the deep moral conviction that delicious baked goods should be enjoyed regardless of the season.

Joulutorttu for the win! Go Hawks. :-)

I totally forgot to post for the Apple Bundt Cake I baked for Patrick Sharp a few games ago – not to mention that [profile] hildestuff made gorgeous snow kisses for Michal Rozsival, and [personal profile] kiwoa baked delicious pastry hearts for Patrick Kane.

The Blackhawks play their first second-round game against the Minnesota Wild tonight, and our bakeoff player of the day is center Brad Richards.

Brad hails from the tiny fishing community Murray Harbour on Prince Edward Island, which appears to be known for both fish and potatoes. I made fishcakes first because they combine both of those ingredients, but I didn’t like them much. So instead, I went with:

Prince Edward Island Potato Chocolate Cake

Good luck, Blackhawks!

Check out the Apple Maple Strudel with rum soaked raisins hildesstuff baked for Captain Jonny Toews for the game on April 23rd.

And for the game on April 25th, zao-gao baked delicious Apple Dumplings for manchild Brandon Saad!

My baking contribution for today's game against the Predators!

Today's player is D-man Kyle Cumiskey.

Kyle Cumiskey

Kyle is from Abbotsford in British Columbia, so I baked a glazed lemon loaf (because the ragingly popular British Columbian Nanaimo bars aren't actually baked).

Lemon cake for the win! :-)
