Very slightly spoilery, more or less random thoughts on "Hunted", Supernatural 2x10.

1.

IMO, it was a mistake to cut the previous ep before Dean's revelation. The cliffhanger effect would have been intensified if Dean had said what he had to say, and *then* the series had gone into hiatus. No doubt Kripke&Co hoped that viewers would be kept on tenterhooks by the promise of new information about Sam's nature and the demon's plans for him and all the children like him - but in my estimation, the implications of Dean's predictably non-conclusive revelation and the question of how this situation will play out would have been a far stronger lure, particularly for casual viewers.

Also, I felt that as a result of tying the revelation into the beginning of "Hunted" instead, the dramatic curve of this ep went out of kilter.

Wow, way to cheapen the (already moronic) gesture, Dad.

Also: coward.

Imagine a total stranger turns up out of the blue, claiming to be an old friend of your son's, who was murdered a month ago, with no clues whatsoever regarding perp or motive. Imagine said total stranger - who your son never once mentioned - encourages you to bare your heart about the kid and then asks to see his room. Would you really let him rummage around your dead child's room, alone and totally unsupervised?

Me, I'd call the police.

OMG! Sam is the Twin Star!! Everything makes so much sense now. :-) *

(Does this mean Dean is the Kamui - which, come to think of it, would make a scary amount of sense? Or is Sam the Kamui - thus charged with the task of choosing for both of them - and Dean is the Twin Star? So many new questions! *g*)

* At least it makes sense if you know Clamp's "X 1999" - otherwise, not so much, and I apologize for the sudden jarring crossover. *g*

All in all, I liked it a lot. Looking forward to next week. :-)
