Date: 2009-06-02 08:34 pm (UTC)Your writing is beautiful and so rife with real, difficult ~emotion~. I loved how it was so stream-of-consciousness, which is something that you have to be a very good writer to do well.
I just don't know what to say. OH! oh! I am actually speechless. That is sort of new for me, so I didn't realize what it was. I am speechless.
I have one complaint, though. I want more. I feel like the ending left me hanging, wondering what's going on with Junno's side investigation and how the case involving Ragaraja will progress. You've created a fantastically intense little world here. I'd really like to see more of it.
No one really reads my journal but I'm going to link you anyway. I hope that's cool.

Date: 2009-06-02 11:10 pm (UTC)*blush* Now I'm not sure what to say either. :-) Except - yay, I am very glad to hear that you liked the story so much - and especially this version of Junno! (I was initially a bit anxious whether he'd come out well enough as a character when the story is from Ryo's POV, and am very glad that he does seem to stand his ground. *g*)
I have one complaint, though. I want more.
:-) Sorry to leave you hanging... yeah, I know I left several plot lines unresolved. This story really was about the "first contact" of the title - about Junno and Ryo connecting, finding a way to relate to each other and - all that. *g* And since that story was told, well. :-)
Junno and Ryo will of course bring Tomo's murderers to justice together, with many a cheerful pun and snarky grumble along the way. And the Ragaraja investigation will indeed become an asset to the Inagawa-kai investigation as a whole, and that... that would be enough plot for a novel, or a series of novels. :-) And I already have way too many stories in progress!
Of course it's cool if you link to me - in fact, it's very flattering, and I am happy you want to. :-) Go right ahead!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback - I'm very glad you enjoyed the story!

Date: 2009-06-03 10:43 pm (UTC)Ooh, seriously? Cool! There don't seem to be very many people around who share my love for the pairing, so it always makes me feel good to discover another fan who loves the idea of these two. :-) They'd be so good together, and in such an interesting way, too!
Yeah, I may be slightly over-invested. ;-)
I'm very glad that you also enjoyed the smidgeon of Junno/Ohkura, and that the bondage didn't prevent you from enjoying the story. :-)
Thank you very much for letting me know you enjoyed the story! It's wonderful to know. :-)

Date: 2009-06-03 05:17 am (UTC)Okay...I don't read fics very often at all, but a friend sent this to me because it was Junno/Ryo. I've only ever read one other Junno/Ryo fic... and I was mostly disappointed. But this, this was brilliant. It's late/early, and I'm far from eloquent, but I can't say how amazing it was. Your depiction of Junno was so spot on. He's such a mix of characteristics and it's so rare for someone to tap into that.
I loved every bit of this, and my Ryo/Junno fangirl is now in utter bliss. Thank you. ♥

Date: 2009-06-03 10:55 pm (UTC)I'm very glad you enjoyed the story - and particularly the characterization of Junno. I agree with you entirely, of course; Junno is very far from being the one-dimensional clown he's sometimes seen as. The closer you look, the more facets there are to him... which is a large part of what makes him so interesting to me, particularly when it comes to writing him. So (long story short) it's great to hear that my portrayal rang so true to you even in the AU context. :-)
Thank you for commenting to let me know you liked "First Contact"!

Date: 2009-06-03 03:16 pm (UTC)Everything about this fic is just right to me. When I saw the pairing at first I was like, "Hm...I don't know", but you totally had me hooked by the first few paragraphs. When I noticed the length of it I actually limited how much I'd read daily just so I could enjoy this for three whole days.
I take my hat off to you sir! Well...in this case, ma'am! I'm assuming.

Date: 2009-06-03 11:05 pm (UTC)That's a completely wonderful thing to hear - I completely get the wish to prolong the reading experience with a story I particularly enjoy, and it's amazing to know that you enjoyed my story enough to want to portion it out to yourself like that.
So: Yay! :-)) I am very glad you enjoyed the story so much!

Ryo/Junno is a very unusual pairing; I'm not surprised it didn't immediately strike you as the ideal combination. I'm all the more glad that you gave the story a chance despite this, though, and it's great that it managed to convince you!

*g* Yes, it's ma'am - or actually, just plain Sylvia works. :-)
Thank you very much for your lovely feedback!

Date: 2009-06-03 11:12 pm (UTC)*blush* Wow, that's a high compliment indeed! I'm very flattered that you think my version of Junno works this well - and that you enjoyed the story so much!
keep writing Junno-centric fics
I definitely expect to for a while yet. Fairness compels me to add that I am a slow and unreliable writer at best, but it's safe to say that as long as I'm in this fandom at all, I will keep writing Junno. :-)
Thank you so much for sharing!
You're very welcome indeed - thank *you* for letting me know you enjoyed the story!

Yes, that is part of it. They complement each other wonderfully well in a lot of ways. :-)
I'm very glad you enjoyed the story - thank you for letting me know! :-)

Date: 2009-06-05 08:12 pm (UTC)There was one particular passage that really had me and that in a way sums up why I love this over any other BDSM I have read lately.
"Not even if Nakamura'd introduced himself some other way than insulting Ryo and trying to order Junno around. Not even if this had all been real instead of an undercover gig. Not him. He'd try to break Junno, try to force him to submit when the entire point is that the submission is willing, voluntary. Control handed over, not ripped away. Trust, not force."
My deepest thanks to you for posting this master piece. I look forward too reading more of your work now that I have discovered you.

Date: 2009-06-06 01:08 pm (UTC)So when I spotted a Ryo/Junno I was rather intrigued since it seems like a rare combination.
Yes, Ryo/Junno definitely counts as a rare pairing, I'd say - which I, for one, think is a great shame. (They go together so well, and so interestingly! But then, you already know my opinion on the matter. *g*)
I'm really glad you found the thought of the combination intriguing, and decided to give the story a try - and that it then managed to suck you in so quickly!
There was one particular passage that really had me and that in a way sums up why I love this over any other BDSM I have read lately.
It's always fascinating to know which aspects and parts of a story have the most impact on the reader, and it intrigues me that this passage worked so well - I hadn't expected it to stand out, but I think I know why it does, now that I think about it. I'm very glad that it worked so well for you!
I look forward too reading more of your work
I haven't written much in this fandom yet - and what I have is very different from this story - but I do plan to post more stories in the future, and hope that you will enjoy them as well. :-)
Thank you again for your lovely feedback!
HOT
Date: 2009-06-10 03:30 pm (UTC)Re: HOT
Date: 2009-06-12 11:14 pm (UTC)That's definitely a confession I like to hear. :-) And I'm the same way - I read everything with Junno in it that I can find. But I'm glad "First Contact" didn't appeal to you merely because of its high Junno-content, but also as the story itself!
PLEASE write a sequel to this.
Unfortunately, I can't promise you a sequel... Yes, I do know I left several plot lines unresolved; I didn't mean to be a tease, it's just that this story really was about the "first contact" of the title: Junno and Ryo connecting, finding a way to relate to each other, and all that. *g* And since that story was told, well. :-)
That said, of course it's just the beginning for Ryo and Junno. (Yes, I am a hopelessly romantic sap. Why do you ask?) They will of course bring Tomo's murderers to justice together, with many a cheerful pun and snarky grumble along the way. And Nakamura will invite Ryo and Junno to one of his private parties, and the Ragaraja investigation will indeed become an asset to the Inagawa-kai investigation as a whole. And... that would be enough plot for a novel, or a series of novels. :-) And I already have way too many stories in progress!
if Uchi will pose a problem for the partners
It's really interesting that you mention that, because I was thinking about how that will go myself... hm. Definitely food for thought. *g*
Thank you for your lovely feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the story so much - and especially that you thought it was HOT. :-)

Date: 2009-06-11 10:17 pm (UTC)I've read your story like a week ago. ^^;
Damn, it really felt realistic! Even if I still have no idea if it's really like this in a BDSM club or just our general imagination. ^^;
Have you researched a lot? oo?
I'm glad to be finally able to read something with a Junno who is believable, or in other words who is not a complete idiot.
or I've just read the wrong FFs till nowand there's a storyline~
even if I'm not sure if that sex scene in the club is for the benefit of the FF or not. Like, have you just written it to be able to write those sex scenes?
Somehow I wanna read more. like.. sequel?
Like... ending the story line you've started? With all those problems and this case to solve?
Somehow I was disappointed that they were somehow together, but it never felt like the story was at its end.
but on the other hand, when you've written it just for them to get together through a BDSM club and the storyline was just nice deco for the rest...
so yeah, sorry.
That are the only points still in my head about your FF. ^^;
At least I could say, that I forgot 92% of all FFs I've read, there's still a lot I can remember about your's.
It was/is a great one. xD

Date: 2009-06-12 11:43 pm (UTC)Damn, it really felt realistic!
Yay! It's really great that the Ragaraja seems so realistic. :-) I'm sure that there are many details of this club that won't be found anywhere but in our imagination; I did do fairly extensive research, but in the end, this is still fiction, and I have felt free to build the Ragaraja as it suited my story.
I'm glad to be finally able to read something with a Junno who is believable, or in other words who is not a complete idiot.
It's always surprising to me that he is evidently taken as an idiot by some fans... it seems so absolutely clear to me that he is anything but. I can only think that some of the fans pay no attention whatsoever to the man himself, but simply adopt some handy (and sadly absolutely inaccurate) stereotypes floating around.
and there's a storyline~
even if I'm not sure if that sex scene in the club is for the benefit of the FF or not.
Yes, the storyline is somewhat secondary to the sex in this story, though I do feel it is very important - in terms of characterization, motivation, dramatic tension and more. But if you wanted to define this story's genre, I think it can most accurately be called a Plot What Plot with plot. *g*
Unfortunately, I can't promise you a sequel... even though I did leave several plot lines unresolved. I don't mean to be a tease, it's just that this story really was about the "first contact" of the title: Junno and Ryo connecting, finding a way to relate to each other, and all that. And that story has been told. :-)
However, you're completely right that the story itself is not at an end at all. The future is wide open - it's just the beginning for Ryo and Junno. (Yes, I am a hopelessly romantic sap. Why do you ask?) They will of course bring Tomo's murderers to justice together, with many a cheerful pun and snarky grumble along the way. And the Ragaraja investigation will indeed become an asset to the Inagawa-kai investigation as a whole. And... so much more that would be enough plot for a novel, or a series of novels. :-) And I already have way too many stories in progress!
Thank you very much for your lovely feedback! I'm very glad that you enjoyed the story, and that it will stay in your mind for a while. :-)

Date: 2009-06-16 03:32 am (UTC)oh. my. fucking. god.
I've spent all day reading this, and there were parts that just went over my fucking head and there were parts where I laughed and parts where I cried and parts where I just felt the need to kick something, and parts where my toes curled and I flushed and all I could do was smile and feel warmth inside. People say follow the rainbow and there will be a pot of gold at the end, but if you follow the rainbow on LJ, you're gonna end up with this. Ryo/Junno is a pairing that I never thought I'd read and, god dammit, there were parts where I just had to sit and fucking read a paragraph twice over. Junno is so well portrayed, showing the other side of Junno, where he isn't all smiles and crappy jokes. Showing a well-known side of Ryo, but with just a hint of vulnerability and indecisiveness and oh dear god this story was fucking amazing. I keep wanting to just fucking read it over and over.
All I can say other than this is... well fucking done. I thank The Lord and Jesus that I've found this fic and, frankly, I will never forget it.
...write a book, for the sake of the people who haven't read your writing.

it's not my Junno bias speaking at all, really.
*g* Hey, there's nothing wrong with a bit of Junno bias in my book. Boy needs more love.
You give amazing feedback. Thank you very much!
