Rec me some books!

As always, I feel that I am in dire need of more books. (This is a chronic condition, I fear. *g*)

So, I need your help! Please rec me your favorite fiction. I read pretty much every genre; fantasy, science fiction and historical fiction are special favorites. Slashiness is not required, although I don't object if it's there. ;-)

C. L. Wilson: Tairen Soul quintology (English, high fantasy)

Markus Heitz: Die Mächte des Feuers (Deutsch, AU 1920ish with dragons!)

Thank you, I'll check them out! :-) Maybe I'll give Cherryh another try. I know I read one of those Gate books before, but it was long ago; I might well see them quite differently now.

And really, Hamilton's actually written another book that isn't boring rambly unimaginative porn with 76 ravishingly beautiful men with long hair/weird skin-eye combinations in various colors? I am amazed. Maybe she's hired a ghostwriter. ;-)
