Don't be scared by the very first volume, A Thousand Kisses; that was the mangaka's very very weird original concept, which featured a trio of annoying heros, Dorian as the villain, and altogether startling goings-on.
It might be best to start with "Iron Klaus", which is where Dorian takes over and Klaus (originally also conceived as a minor character) appears for the first time.
Although for sheer amusement, A Thousand Kisses can't be beat. I mean, one of the main characters is called "Leopard Solid". Beat that! :-)
