Icon Meme: The Return.

Here's a new edition of an old meme favorite of mine!
The rules:
All characters depicted in my icons are listed and paired off in alphabetical order. This time I have decided to sort the characters by last name, or throne name in one instance.
James Kirk / Kiryuu Touga
This is definitely a one-night-stand, with neither party interested in an actual relationship of any kind. The two are most likely to meet at a high society party of some kind, perhaps a mixer for Starfleet officers and other shakers and movers. They have theinsufferable swagger in common, though it manifests in slightly different ways – and of course the ego, and (to an extent) the attitude, plus the urge to prove themselves by seducing anything that moves. I can absolutely imagine them setting their sights on each other as a challenge to both themselves and the other.
They don't actually like each other, though, and treat each other with healthy, respectful caution throughout. Should they run into each other again, it'll be by chance, and they'll both be slightly amused at the memory of their one night together.
Alex Krycek / Leonard McCoy
Somewhat bizarre, but not impossible. :-) It's unlikely either of them would be particularly interested in the other unless circumstances threw them together, but if they were to work together for a common goal – such as fighting hostile aliens – I can see them coming to appreciate each other. They're very different, but they do have some common ground. I doubt the relationship would work out in the long run, though. It'd be more of a pragmatic "companionship and comfort between battles" kind of thing.
Menkheperre (Thutmose) / Fox Mulder
This pairing is clearly the result of magical sex pollen being inadvertently released from an ancient relic. And equally clearly, the relic-fumbling is Mulder's fault. While Mulder is of course thrilled to meet a pharao in supernaturally resurrected form, with or without mummy wrappings – or a mutant time traveller, or whatever – Thutmose as a person will rub Mulder the wrong way in an unsexy manner. On his part, Thutmose will simply find Mulder odd and possibly annoying, depending. Also potentially useful, yes – but certainly not more than that.
So, after the x-file has concluded and the sex pollen has dissipated, these two will not be interested in a relationship of that kind. Although Mulder would quite like to have Thutmose as a research subject, which is not going to happen. And Thutmose would quite like to employ Mulder concerning some matters that touch upon his area of expertise... which is going to happen. (This will not make Mulder like Thutmose more, incidentally. Quite the contrary.)
Nishikido Ryo / Oilien
Ryo, Ryo, you really shouldn't spend so much time hanging out in dubious restrooms… This relationship is certainly not much fun for the hapless Ryo. Waking up locked in abandoned missile silos covered in slime so seldom is, especially when an alien has been walking around wearing you. And I don't think Ryo will deal well with the stress of alien invasion, either.
The oilien, OTOH, is entirely satisfied with how its acquaintance with Ryo goes.
Saionji Kyoichi / Sakurazuka Seishirou
Despite my initial reaction when I saw this pairing, I now think this works, in a weird way. Weird, unpleasant for Saionji, and entertaining for Seishirou.
Saionji may not look like it at first glance, but he could be Seishirou's type, if Seishirou were interested in expanding his portfolio beyond "Subaru". Emotionally vulnerable, naïve (if perhaps not exactly innocent) in some ways, hopelessly idealistic, passionately devoted to people and causes… though also bitter, yes, and suspicious, and damaged. Which might be an added point of interest – make him trust, need and love you despite himself, and then break him! What fun.
Plus, of course, Saionji is very pretty. Seishirou appreciates an aesthetically pleasing tableau.
As for Saionji – a handsome, self-assured and intensely interested older man courting him might or might not sway him, depending on just how the courting goes. If Seishirou is smart about it, though, yeah, he could get him.
Poor Saionji. He's just as ill-equipped to handle the emotional fall-out as Subaru is, and will break just as badly. Although.. it'd really depend on just when Seishirou came across him. If it's after the Ohtori thing, and Saionji has already rebuilt himself after being broken by Touga – well. Then, he will not be as easy a plaything to acquire as Seishirou will imagine, and will not break as completely or irrevocably as Seishirou would wish.
Sha Gojyo / Spock
ROFL! Oh, this would be such fun. They'd need to be thrown together a bit by circumstances, because it wouldn't be mutual attraction at first sight, but then, yes.
Spock is initially put off by Gojyo's excessively extroverted ways, so it takes him a little while to realize that there is far more to the man than aggressive flirtiness and general pleb-itude. However, he is observant and open-minded enough that he realizes, and then he appreciates Gojyo's finer qualities all the more (get your mind out of the gutter, I'm talking about courage, compassion, strength, whole-heartedness, caring, selflessness, loyalty and all that).
Gojyo, for his part, likes the scarily intelligent and competent, strong, repressed and tightly wound, subtly sarcastic ones. (It's such fun peeling them out of their shell, little by little. *g*) He appreciates Spock just as he is, pedantic and introverted warts and all, but doesn't take him too seriously even so, and isn't afraid of teasing and/or annoying him when he thinks Spock needs to loosen up. He also drags him out into company more than Spock might do if left to his own devices. All in all, he thinks Spock is awesome, and hot, and fun to be around (because Gojyo is smart that way), and also way out of Gojyo's league (because Gojyo is stupid like that). Once he manages to believe that Spock actually, seriously likes him too, Gojyo will be so there.
Spock will ground Gojyo, make him get his shit together, and motivate him to steer his life into some kind of purposeful direction. He won't take any of Gojyo's shit, but will put up with all of his peculiarities without minding. He'll also be so absolutely unwavering, sincere and loyal that Gojyo will never have to be in doubt about his affection. And there really isn't a better person to have around in Gojyo's moments of insecurity than Spock, who will notice every time, and will both explain in inescapably logical detail why Gojyo is in no way lacking, and provide suitable distractions. (Plus, Spock is sure to have a wicked protective streak that will do Gojyo a world of good.)
These two could actually be really good for each other, IMO, if they survive the inevitably rocky start. And I think they are both stubborn and open-minded and adaptable enough to do that. Yep, they'll go the distance.
This is my favorite pairing out of all of these. Now I really, really want to read this!
Taguchi Junnosuke / Nyota Uhura
Awww. Cute! These two are just adorable together (and also highly decorative). Sure, they're very different, but I see them as being different in a compatible way. They're a tiny bit like Gojyo/Spock Lite, but without all the extremes, and the drama, angst, self-hatred and all. ;-)
Junno is blown away by Uhura's beauty, intelligence and competence at first sight – given the chance to get to know her better, I can definitely see him falling for her in a severe way. For her part, Uhura is a bit more hesitant and takes some time to come around to Junno's charms, but does eventually give him a chance, and then discovers more and more that he's not just a pretty dorky face. *g*
Also, she constantly pushes him to improve the quality of his puns, but doesn't want him to stop punning. She loves a good pun. And Junno loves her for that. :-)
Dean Winchester / Yellow Ranger
LOL! This is my favorite crack pairing of the bunch. They meet on a job, fighting some kind of bid by evil-doers to destroy all happiness in the world; afterwards, they get drunk together, and somehow manage to bumble into bed, and a relationship of sorts from there. Dean's first deed is to attempt to convince Yellow to wear clothes that don't make a) Yellow a big, fluorescent target, and b) Dean cringe with contact embarrassment, but this is unsuccessful. Yellow then attempts to make Dean call up Sam and everyone else in his life and tell them how much he cares for them, but this is also unsuccessful. Neither one gives up on his respective cause, though, and in the meantime, the two of them travel the world in the Impala and on Ranger Bikes, fight supernatural monsters, demons, petty discord and littering.
