Really, all those others exist too? Clearly there are a lot of good things yet in store for me. So far I've only happened across a very short and lovely bit of alpha/omega mpreg crack.

That was definitely one of my more likely theories. But I'm very glad to hear that the times are a-changing. Hopefully there will be more soon!
Especially more long stories. POI needs more stories in general, but there's also a noticable lack of longer stories, and I do hope the tide turns soon. :-)
