Blackhawks Bakeoff: Potato Chocolate Cake

The Blackhawks play their first second-round game against the Minnesota Wild tonight, and our bakeoff player of the day is center Brad Richards.



Brad hails from the tiny fishing community Murray Harbour on Prince Edward Island, which appears to be known for both fish and potatoes. I made fishcakes first because they combine both of those ingredients, but I didn’t like them much. So instead, I went with:

Why does the AO3 have such unfortunate timing when it comes to membership drives / calls for donations? It's not that I'm unwilling to support the AO3 financially in principle - quite the contrary; I find it a worthwhile and important project. I have supported the AO3 by donations in the past, and would theoretically be willing to donate again.

BUT.

When the AO3 chooses NOW to proclaim it's trying for 100,000 USD in donations?

During a major and ongoing humanitarian crisis, I find asking for donations for a fan initiative to be horrendously bad timing, to say the least. And I vaguely remember that the last major AO3 call for donations had similarly horrible timing...?
