The other day I came across a BBC program about the battle of Megiddo. Hey, I thought! How cool! (Yes, I am a card-carrying Ancient Egypt geek.)

So, I started to watch it.

Very Dramatically Intoning Narrator: "A rebel warlord challenges the might of Egypt!"

Me: Errr... well, I *guess* you could call it that. If you wanted to call an alliance of city states "a rebel warlord". Errr.

V.D.I.N.: "The fate of Egypt lies in the hands of a young boy. His name: Thutmoses III its young pharao, who has never before seen battle!"

Me: ?!? Never before seen battle, WTF...? Well, okay, I guess you *could* argue that, if you wanted to ignore that he'd already been commander-in-chief of the entire army for a while, and so led the Egyptian troops in two previous wars...

V.D.I.N.: "If the rebels win, Egyptian civilization will crumble!"

Me: Ze drama! But still, I actually agree with that.

V.D.I.N.: "This is a true story... It records how a pampered prince was transformed by war and turned his kingdom into an empire."

Me: A pampered prince. A pampered prince? Mister, I'd like to see YOU grow up as a pampered prince when you are the rightful pharao, and your aunt, stepmother and regent - err, make that the slightly usurping reigning pharao - is freaking Hatshepsut. Pampered my foot.

I may be overly particular about this. Maybe just slightly. ;-)
