Charm it with smiles and soap!*

Beware: many large soap pics lurk beneath the cut! I've been busy... and I've also been as name-impaired as always, so if you think of alternate names for these soaps, please do let me know. (I'm also happy about all other soapy remarks, of course, including suggestions for new soaps!)
Virgin

Pure as the driven snow! This soap is innocent of dye or scent, but does feature quark, babassu oil, almond oil, and a bit of salt.
Lavender Swirl

Another lavender soap. The previous one is still my favorite, but this is also quite nice.
White Neptune

A salt soap with a very fresh, citrussy scent due to essential citronella oil.
Blue Neptune

Same scent and recipe as White Neptune. I'm very happy with the way this one's marbling and topping turned out! That's exactly what I hoped it'd look like.
Milk and Honey

Actually, there's no milk in this soap – just quark, honey and beeswax. No scent or dyes, though; I love the color and smell of pure honey soap. There's the faintest hint of honey-ish caramel, to my nose.

I had to make this soap twice because the first batch got so hot it scorched itself. Yes, soap can do that. I knew it would try to do that - honey always does - and was checking on it every five minutes, ready to pop it in the freezer at the first signs of danger. But the treacherous soap lulled me in false security by staying cool as a cucumber for over half an hour and then igniting into hellish fury over the course of several minutes. By the time I caught it in the act, it had already burned itself black and separated out the lye.
Roman Rose

This soap turned out very unlike the vision in my mind, and I have still not reconciled with it. I even considered naming it "Berlusconi" in revenge, but was persuaded that this was unfair because the soap does, after all, smell wonderfully of roses, and has high-quality ingredients like shea and cocoa butter in it. Also, who would want to rub Berlusconi all over themselves?
Wild Rose

Same scent and recipe as Roman Rose, but I am very happy with the way this round rose soap turned out.
Neon!

Citrussy-fresh scent, neon-fresh look. I tried out the essential oil lemon eucalypsus with this soap, and I really like the way it smells.
Ginger

Gingery scent with just a hint of gothy darkness, but not too sweet or heavy. Naturally colored with annatto, which goes well with the scent, IMO.
Bog Ghost

A peat soap featuring medicinal peat from the Schweriner moor. Also a fresh, tart and woodsy scent I composed myself, and am rather proud of; it features citrus notes, cypress and juniper berry.
Snow

Fresh wintery scent, with shea butter, babassu, olive and rice bran oil.
Green Wave

Fresh soapy scent "Fresh Linen", and an experiment in shapes and colors that I think turned out very nicely.
Return of the Gothic Stars

The return of a classic, due to popular demand by one particular lady! ;-) I love this scent – it's a dark gothy one with hints of pomegranate and incense. Not too heavy or sweet, though, and even a bit fresh. I also like how the dramatically gold and red stars turned out.
Green Woods

Very dry, woodsy scent I am not certain about. The color started out as the nastiest shade of yellow-green ever discovered, but I forced the soap into a strong gel phase and it repented.
Sandalwood & Vanilla

A hint of the Orient, with a sandalwood and vanilla scent that suits the look of the soap perfectly. Colored with cocoa and dusted with gold pigment.
Vanilla Tart

Unsurprisingly, this soap is vanilla-scented. And despite the name, it is a very clean-living soap. (Argh, bad pun! Sorry! Don't know what came over me. *g*)
Winter Stars
To the left, vanilla stars. To the right, sandalwood & vanilla stars.
Chocolate Dream

This one's for chocoholics: scent of dark chocolate, colored and dusted with cocoa.

Another incarnation of the Chocolate Dream.
And that's it for the moment. More soaps are sure to follow in future, though. :-)
* But there will be no threatening of anyone's life with a railway-share on this journal!

Date: 2011-11-17 03:29 pm (UTC)I got down to milk and honey imagining the scents, and then I started to see bars that looked good enough to eat.
And then...The Quiz: Soap or Pastry? (Especially the cupcake with the maple leaf on top.)
(They are beautiful. Just right now, I'm ... hungry.)
