Ok, I confess - I love Junno, so any fic with him in it gets me. But I also happen to love really well-written fics, and yours is near the top of my list. PLEASE write a sequel to this. I want to know how the things with Nakamura works out, and if Uchi will pose a problem for the partners. Oh, and I want to see how Junno's personal case plays out. I know I'm asking for a lot, but your fic begs closure. More power! :)

Ok, late comment...
I've read your story like a week ago. ^^;

Damn, it really felt realistic! Even if I still have no idea if it's really like this in a BDSM club or just our general imagination. ^^;
Have you researched a lot? oo?

I'm glad to be finally able to read something with a Junno who is believable, or in other words who is not a complete idiot. or I've just read the wrong FFs till now

and there's a storyline~
even if I'm not sure if that sex scene in the club is for the benefit of the FF or not. Like, have you just written it to be able to write those sex scenes?
Somehow I wanna read more. like.. sequel?
Like... ending the story line you've started? With all those problems and this case to solve?
Somehow I was disappointed that they were somehow together, but it never felt like the story was at its end.
but on the other hand, when you've written it just for them to get together through a BDSM club and the storyline was just nice deco for the rest...

so yeah, sorry.
That are the only points still in my head about your FF. ^^;
At least I could say, that I forgot 92% of all FFs I've read, there's still a lot I can remember about your's.

It was/is a great one. xD

Ok, I confess - I love Junno

That's definitely a confession I like to hear. :-) And I'm the same way - I read everything with Junno in it that I can find. But I'm glad "First Contact" didn't appeal to you merely because of its high Junno-content, but also as the story itself!

PLEASE write a sequel to this.

Unfortunately, I can't promise you a sequel... Yes, I do know I left several plot lines unresolved; I didn't mean to be a tease, it's just that this story really was about the "first contact" of the title: Junno and Ryo connecting, finding a way to relate to each other, and all that. *g* And since that story was told, well. :-)

That said, of course it's just the beginning for Ryo and Junno. (Yes, I am a hopelessly romantic sap. Why do you ask?) They will of course bring Tomo's murderers to justice together, with many a cheerful pun and snarky grumble along the way. And Nakamura will invite Ryo and Junno to one of his private parties, and the Ragaraja investigation will indeed become an asset to the Inagawa-kai investigation as a whole. And... that would be enough plot for a novel, or a series of novels. :-) And I already have way too many stories in progress!

if Uchi will pose a problem for the partners

It's really interesting that you mention that, because I was thinking about how that will go myself... hm. Definitely food for thought. *g*

Thank you for your lovely feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the story so much - and especially that you thought it was HOT. :-)

Late comments are just as nice as the other kind - in some ways, I'm always especially glad for late comments because they make me feel the story hasn't been forgotten yet. And that's a very good feeling to have!

Damn, it really felt realistic!

Yay! It's really great that the Ragaraja seems so realistic. :-) I'm sure that there are many details of this club that won't be found anywhere but in our imagination; I did do fairly extensive research, but in the end, this is still fiction, and I have felt free to build the Ragaraja as it suited my story.

I'm glad to be finally able to read something with a Junno who is believable, or in other words who is not a complete idiot.

It's always surprising to me that he is evidently taken as an idiot by some fans... it seems so absolutely clear to me that he is anything but. I can only think that some of the fans pay no attention whatsoever to the man himself, but simply adopt some handy (and sadly absolutely inaccurate) stereotypes floating around.

and there's a storyline~
even if I'm not sure if that sex scene in the club is for the benefit of the FF or not.

Yes, the storyline is somewhat secondary to the sex in this story, though I do feel it is very important - in terms of characterization, motivation, dramatic tension and more. But if you wanted to define this story's genre, I think it can most accurately be called a Plot What Plot with plot. *g*

Unfortunately, I can't promise you a sequel... even though I did leave several plot lines unresolved. I don't mean to be a tease, it's just that this story really was about the "first contact" of the title: Junno and Ryo connecting, finding a way to relate to each other, and all that. And that story has been told. :-)

However, you're completely right that the story itself is not at an end at all. The future is wide open - it's just the beginning for Ryo and Junno. (Yes, I am a hopelessly romantic sap. Why do you ask?) They will of course bring Tomo's murderers to justice together, with many a cheerful pun and snarky grumble along the way. And the Ragaraja investigation will indeed become an asset to the Inagawa-kai investigation as a whole. And... so much more that would be enough plot for a novel, or a series of novels. :-) And I already have way too many stories in progress!

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback! I'm very glad that you enjoyed the story, and that it will stay in your mind for a while. :-)

I'd be interested in knowing *why* you don't like it, though.

*speechless*

oh. my. fucking. god.

I've spent all day reading this, and there were parts that just went over my fucking head and there were parts where I laughed and parts where I cried and parts where I just felt the need to kick something, and parts where my toes curled and I flushed and all I could do was smile and feel warmth inside. People say follow the rainbow and there will be a pot of gold at the end, but if you follow the rainbow on LJ, you're gonna end up with this. Ryo/Junno is a pairing that I never thought I'd read and, god dammit, there were parts where I just had to sit and fucking read a paragraph twice over. Junno is so well portrayed, showing the other side of Junno, where he isn't all smiles and crappy jokes. Showing a well-known side of Ryo, but with just a hint of vulnerability and indecisiveness and oh dear god this story was fucking amazing. I keep wanting to just fucking read it over and over.

All I can say other than this is... well fucking done. I thank The Lord and Jesus that I've found this fic and, frankly, I will never forget it.

...write a book, for the sake of the people who haven't read your writing.

and I've been wondering all throughout the fic, how would you pronounce Ragaraja? Sorry if it seems weird or something, but... it's been itching at me since I first read the name.

AFAIK, the Japanese pronounciation would be straight up Rah-gah-rah-jah, with no particular stress on any of the syllables.

(It's not actually a Japanese word, but the original Sanskrit name of Aizen Myoo, the Buddhist "Wisdom King" responsible for transforming lust into transcendent joy and enlightenment. I have no idea what the original Sanskrit pronounciation should be... but then, I doubt any of the Ragaraja's patrons do, either. *g*)

*blush* It's really wonderful to hear you liked the story so much!

there were parts where I laughed and parts where I cried and parts where I just felt the need to kick something, and parts where my toes curled and I flushed and all I could do was smile and feel warmth inside.

Seriously? That… that is amazing. I'd love to ask which parts of the story made you do what, but that'd just be greedy on my part. :-) I'm just very very glad to know "First Contact" was able to affect you so deeply!

Ryo/Junno is a pairing that I never thought I'd read

It's not a pairing that anyone expects, I think! It's great that you were willing to give it a chance, even when your first reaction to the thought was probably along the lines of "…bzuh?!?". *g*

For my part… I've fallen in love with the pairing, which is probably not a terribly surprising revelation at this point. I think they'd go incredibly well together – they're different enough to complement and balance each other, and similar enough to have common ground.

Junno is so well portrayed, showing the other side of Junno, where he isn't all smiles and crappy jokes.

The question of Junno characterization is something I feel quite strongly about, so I'm very happy indeed that this Junno rang so true to you. Junno is very far from being the one-dimensional grinning clown he's sometimes seen as. The closer you look, the more facets there are to him... which is a large part of what makes him so interesting to me, particularly when it comes to writing him.

Showing a well-known side of Ryo, but with just a hint of vulnerability and indecisiveness

In some ways, I feel Ryo's sometimes taken at face value in much the same way Junno is - just one facet of him mistaken for the whole person. He's also a complex and fascinating guy, and I'm glad he worked for you, too!

I will never forget it.

I think that's the highest compliment you can make to an author. I am incredibly happy to hear it – and quite flattered too. :-)

write a book

I've been trying! I keep getting sidetracked by shiny fandoms like this, though. *g* But I will persevere…

Laugh-"He can so swing it. Fuck them." and "Move over, butch. No hogging the mirror."

Cry-"Ryo looks down to find Uchi watching him with a very familiar, mocking curl of the lip. His eyes are glazed and he looks more than half-dead, but that look... Ryo's caught that look more times than he can count.

For one moment, everything rights itself in Ryo's world and he can see the old Uchi in his head, smirking at him. *You want to hit that pretty bad, huh? Yeah you do, don't give me the innocent look, you little fruit. He even swing your way? Guess you'll find out! Ten thou say you can't keep it in your pants for longer than a week.*"

Kick-""Interesting," says the man standing a couple of lockers down. He's wearing a sober, dark grey business suit and is very tall, and Ryo doesn't have time to notice much more than that before he goes on. "You really think it's a good idea to seduce your sub? You shouldn't pamper him. He's far too spoiled."

What. The. Fuck." and ""Get down and kneel," says Nakamura, quietly but very firmly – a tone of command that expects to be obeyed without question."(I was like, "Aw, Hellz to the No!")

Smile-""I'm really sorry," Junno mouthes. His voice is inaudible, but the words are clear on his lips, and Ryo can read their meaning in the flicker of Junno's eyes towards his ribs. Ryo's side does ache a little, now that the adrenalin has worn off; chances are he's going to have a spectacular bruise tomorrow. But it's not like it's a big deal.

He shrugs and mumbles "whatever", and that earns him a sudden, radiant smile that lights Junno up from the inside out, making him look –"

"…bzuh?!?"

LOL I'm pretty sure that's what I said! XD

I think that's the highest compliment you can make to an author.

*wishes someone would say that to me*

Thank you very very much for indulging me by telling me which parts of the story affected you most strongly. I love knowing this - it's absolutely great to know what exactly worked, and how.

That the Uchi scene moved you - and the bit you quoted in particular. That the hogging the mirror and Ryo's "fuck you"-attempt at being a sub for one-upmanship reasons were funny. That the exchange on the dance floor made you smile... Just. Yes. :-) Thank you for telling me!

I was like, "Aw, Hellz to the No!"

Yay! :-))

And, yeah. Junno gets exactly how much "hellz to the No!" you were.

I've been trying to get away from LJ so I can work on my book, but the damn fandoms...

Yes... although they do have their rewards. First among them being wonderful feedback like yours!

I read this a while ago and got confused about how to comment. (It seems so easy now that I'm not quite sure what went wrong then, lol.) I absolutely adored it. Every single sentence left me wanting more. It was beautiful, touching, and better than any soap opera ever created because I was following along, breathless, dying to know what happened next. I honestly feel that this is one of the best fics written. (And it's not my Junno bias speaking at all, really.) Thank you so much for gracing us with your awesome writing skills. :D
